Cooper Robertson is currently engaged in the design of a mixed affordable and market housing development on a large waterfront site in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. A new network of streets and open spaces provides public access to the riverfront and defines four development parcels. Following Hurricane Sandy, flood resiliency is a major consideration; new site fill raises residential ground floors above flood level, and the waterfront open space configuration and planting selections are designed to mitigate flood impacts.

Construction is near completion on the first two buildings. Cooper Robertson is leading design development of the exterior envelope of all four planned buildings; the design approach integrates brick elements relating to the adjacent historic neighborhood with a contemporary glazed double-height window-wall expression.
