In April 2016, the school’s Board of Directors unanimously approved Cooper Robertson’s master plan for the existing Lower School and new, Upper School campuses – and authorized the firm to begin architectural design work on four of the Upper School buildings and grounds.
The Upper School plan establishes a ceremonial gateway to the campus with an arcaded, courtyard building that leads to the Great Lawn, a central organizing element of the plan. At the western tip of the Great Lawn is the Rotunda, a multi-purpose building for dining, receptions and events. Physical Education and Athletics occupy the western-most quadrant of the 17-acre property, anchored by the Great Hall, which serves as a gymnasium, auditorium and performing arts venue. Occupying the high point of the site is the S.T.E.A.M. building, complete with science labs, art studios and music recital rooms. Two General Classroom buildings are nestled into the hillside south of the Great Lawn and frame a grass-terraced amphitheater.
At the Lower School, Cooper Robertson is leading a campaign to renovate and re-purpose the existing buildings, as well as enhance its fabric of landscape and hardscape.
