After a decade of collaborating with the Whitney Museum of American Art, Cooper Robertson is excited to celebrate the opening of the new downtown museum building on May 1st. Designed in collaboration with Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the new building represents the culmination of Cooper Robertson’s role as the Whitney’s space programmer, master planner, expansion planner, and, finally, executive architect. Cooper Robertson’s role has included the collaborative design and implementation of the new building and its innovative exterior and interior gallery spaces, resilient design and flood mitigation strategies, and environmental sustainability. Advance tickets for the museum are on sale now.
