Cooper Robertson is proud to announce that the Buffalo AKG Art Museum has been recognized with multiple distinguished architecture and design awards, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to design excellence and the transformation of cultural institutes.
The project has received recognition from leading industry organizations. The Chicago Athenaeum has selected the Buffalo AKG Art Museum as a winner in the 30th Annual American Architecture Awards—one of the industry’s oldest, largest, and most prestigious awards program honoring outstanding new buildings and urban planning projects across the United States and internationally.
The Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) has honored the project at both the national and regional level: the National Merit Award, and the New York Design Award of Honor from the New York chapter.
Internationally, the Buffalo AKG Art Museum received Bronze Certification in the Cultural Building category from the Grand Prix du Design. Additionally, THE PLAN Award, an annual international prize that recognizes excellence in architecture, interior design, and urban planning, has shortlisted the project.
