In 1979, Alex Cooper defined the contemporary practice of urban design with his article, “What Does an Urban Designer Do?” In the following decades, Cooper Robertson has continued to evolve, refine, cultivate, and apply urban design as a lens through which we view the world and our work. In retrospect of that work, and in looking towards the future, Alex has written a new treatise to advance understanding of the field: “The Urban Design Playbook”.
