Cooper Robertson prepared the master plan and concept design for this new 4 million sf mixed-use western gateway to Mississauga on a vacant 16 acre superblock. The high density development on the site supports the long-term urbanization of downtown Mississauga, tied to a planned new light-rail line serving the core of the City.
The plan includes open spaces and four new streets, creating a pedestrian-friendly network of streets and parks. Architecturally iconic towers atop base buildings front the busy Burnhamthorpe Road on the north side of the site, creating a counterpoint to the Absolute Towers on the eastern end of downtown. Internal open spaces extend the Mary Fix Creek Greenway through the eastern portion of the site and provide pedestrian-scaled connections to adjacent neighborhoods. The first phase buildings are currently under construction, and Cooper Robertson continues to advise on planning and design as the project progresses.
